“From his very first lesson, my son has absolutely adored being a ‘Musician in the Making’ with Ms. Choi as his piano teacher. Since practically an infant, my child has always loved and was fascinated by classical piano. It was hard waiting until he was old enough to start lessons. However, with each consultation for the ‘right’ teacher, he’d leave the encounter more scared and less interested in learning… Just about giving up on piano altogether… Until, by faith, Ms. Candice Choi came to his school and introduced her services. We decided to give it one more try. I found Ms. Choi to do an amazing job with my child and other kids of all ages and all levels of interest.
Ms. Choi is patient, kind, amiable, and has a true gift for teaching little learners different ways to enjoy their lessons, incorporating music and games into her teaching methods. Only a couple lessons in, my child has developed and grown so much. It has been three months and he still leaves his lessons more excited and passionate about music and loving every ‘beat’ of it. He is six and has even expressed to me how she is the ‘best!’ We’ll definitely be students (and fans) of Ms. Choi for a long time! Thank you Musicians in the Making!”
“Our son has been taking piano lessons from Musicians in the Making for more than 4 years. As parents, we could not be more pleased with his teachers, his lessons and his progress. Ms. Choi gives our son his private piano lessons. She is professional, experienced and dedicated to her students. She is so encouraging! Our son loves going to his classes because she makes them fun and interesting. He learns so much! Ms. Grant is his Performance Group teacher. She has the children creating music on the spot and cheering each other on while they each play their pieces for the group. Not only is she creating an exciting atmosphere for learning but is giving them self esteem as they perform for their peers. We were thrilled when Ms. Choi had a group of students perform for an assisted living facility. What a gift she is to the community and the experience was a life lesson for the children as they saw first hand how their talent lifted the spirits of their audience! I cannot say enough about Musicians in the Making. Our son has been encouraged to try new things all while having a lot of fun learning! He loves to practice as well. Thanks to all the staff! We really appreciate you!”

“We have two daughters, 14 and 9, both have been playing piano since first grade. We had been with a music school before learning about Candice and from 2011 were ready for a change. Candice was on top of the key basics and beyond, for both the 14 and 9 year old. From time to time Candice helped our daughters arrange for and participate in performance opportunities in addition to the more formal annual performances. With regard to creative expression, she not only coached the girls with key insights to pieces they worked on, but also assigned them themed opportunities to come up with their own compositions (for whatever level they were prepared to be inventive). We were sad that Candice moved back to San Francisco from our community near Princeton, New Jersey but we recommend you take full advantage!”

“My son Sanjay Mohandas enjoys his piano lessons at Musicians in the Making. He is taking lessons with Miss Candice Choi. She is a great motivator, yet always makes it fun. Musicians in the Making is a great place to learn piano, and I am very happy with how my son has progressed within a short span of time.”

“Miss Choi is a great teacher. She has great passion for music and teaching. She is very good at playing piano and simple pieces of music become charming when she plays. She helps kids to understand the music and play the piece beautifully. She encourages kids to compose their own music and always finds interesting ways to lead my daughter through the difficulties of piano playing in an interesting way. Kids can easily feel her love for music and her love for them and hence they love to play piano and love her classes. My 6 year old daughter feels a great sense of achievement due to the way that Miss Choi has been teaching and develops more and more interest in music and playing piano. My daughter has become so comfortable with Miss Choi and is very happy in the class. In my eyes this is a great achievement for Miss Choi as she makes learning piano a happy and enjoyable experience, which is not so easy to do.”
“It is a delight to have Musicians in the Making at NextGen Church. As the pastor of NextGen and also as a parent of Kaylin Ku, a piano student with Musicians in the Making, I am thrilled to be part of such an amazing music program. It is an opportunity for students in our community to be inspired to love and pursue music. As a parent, I am glad to see my daughter enjoy the process of learning and growing as a musician. At Musicians in the Making, not only are the students acquiring musical skills, but they are encouraged to share their musical gifts with one another and their community.”
